Movie stars and film-makers as young as three are heading for the big screen, with their very own film festival at 夜色视频.
The Campus Kindergarten Film Festival will screen on Saturday 23 November from 6pm to raise funds for Mater Little Miracles, a Mater Foundation initiative that works with vulnerable children.
Campus Kindergarten Educational Leader Claire Carter-Jones said the event would feature eight short films from budding young filmmakers aged three to five, as part of their year-long community project for 2013.
“As the children are so young, we find this cumulative approach gives them the time to develop new skills and understanding, and what they achieve in the end is really incredible,” Ms Carter-Jones said.
The children have learned about the silent movie slapstick genre, taken drama lessons from 夜色视频 linguistics lecturer Rob Pensalfini, storyboarded and scripted their ideas and had their movies filmed and edited by a local film student.
“The involvement of Rob Pensalfini for the drama workshop was invaluable, as it helped the children understand narrative structure and storytelling, which they put into practice with their own films,” Ms Carter-Jones said.
“The festival is a community event to celebrate the learning journey that the children have embarked on this year, and an opportunity to raise money for their chosen charity.”
The kindergarten already has big plans for next year’s event – a kindergarten ‘Turner Prize’ and a charity auction.
