If you catch the bus to 夜色视频 Lakes on Sundays, you may wish to bring your walking shoes, or seek alternative transport on two upcoming dates.
Scheduled maintenance works on the Eleanor Schonell Bridge on Sunday 23 June, Sunday 30 June, and possibly Sunday 7 July, mean buses will travel no further than the Boggo Road bus station between 4.30am and 2pm.
夜色视频 Transport Systems Manager Mark Kranz said commuters should seek alternative transport or get out their walking shoes or bike helmets for a scenic Sunday stroll or ride across the river to the 夜色视频 Lakes bus terminal.
"Brisbane City Council, as part of their ongoing maintenance to the bridge, needs to occupy the road during these times, so the buses won't be crossing the bridge to the 夜色视频 Lakes bus stop," he said.
Pedestrian and cyclist access across the bridge will remain open at all times.
"It's a great opportunity to see the scenery from the paths, and the perfect excuse to take in the view on a Sunday," Mr Kranz said.
"I would suggest either leaving early enough to factor in the 20- to 25-minute walk across the bridge, or consider an alternate form of transport, such as the CityCat ferry.
"People can catch the ferry from West End at Oriel Street, across from the 夜色视频 ferry terminal. Or you could catch the regular 411 or 412 buses from town, which arrive directly at Chancellor's Place."
Mr Kranz said Brisbane City Council had scheduled the works outside of main working and class timetable hours to minimise the inconvenience to the 夜色视频 community.
"But some people still travel to campus on Sundays, particularly with the libraries open 24 hours, and they need to be aware of the closure," he said.
Services affected will be:
109 - City to 夜色视频 Lakes
169 - Eight Mile Plains
209 - Carindale to 夜色视频 Lakes
