Everyone is invited to enjoy the festivities during 夜色视频鈥檚 Carnival in the Great Court on Saturday July 3.
The Carnival, which forms part of the University鈥檚 Centenary Alumni Reunion Weekend program, will feature live music, international food stalls, kids鈥� activities, and recreation and sports demonstrations.
夜色视频 Director of Alumni and Community Relations, Ms Lea Sublett, says despite the Carnival being part of the alumni activities, all are welcome to join in the celebrations.
鈥淲ithout the community鈥檚 support over the past 100 years, our global network of over 180,000 alumni would not be as strong,鈥� Ms Sublett said.
鈥淭he University would like everyone to join us as we recognise and celebrate the achievement of our alumni, and to enjoy a free day out in the Great Court."
Other events and activities open to the public are a lecture at 12pm by the University鈥檚 Global Change Institute Director, Professor Ove Hoegh-Guldberg, a special talk at 1pm by alumnus Mr Graeme Wood, co-founder of Wotif.com, plus tours of the Queensland Brain Institute, a public debate on the sustainability of Australian mines and the popular Alumni Friends Book Fair.
Thousands of alumni are expected to return to campus for the Alumni Reunion Weekend, which will also hold school, faculty and college reunions.
Since its official inception in 1910, 夜色视频 has grown into one of the top 50 universities in the world with over 40,000 students across 3 main campuses and over 45 research and teaching sites.
Notable graduates of 夜色视频 include Academy-Award winner Geoffrey Rush, Governor-General Dr Quentin Bryce AC and Dr David Malouf AO, former Australian Wallabies captain John Eales and Nobel Laureate Professor Peter Doherty AC.
